Fluoroquinolone toxicities are an effect of antibiotics which could cause severe, long-lasting side consequences. They can cause nausea vomiting, diarrhea and muscle pain. Floxing is a different name for this type of condition.

Fluoroquinolones may be useful in certain infections that are life-threatening, for example in cases where other antibiotics are not enough effective.

Taste and smell. Fluoroquinolones could increase the risk for developing peripheral neuropathy by 47% over time.
Ciprofloxacin has been found to alter the topology and structure of mtDNA as well as inhibit normal maintenance and transcription mitochondrial DNA. Tendinitis, tendon rupture and other tendon injuries could be caused by the damage caused by mitochondria to tenocytes following fluoroquinolone treatment. It also can cause fatigue and inflammation.
